MEET THE PERSON BEHIND OUR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE, ALEXANDER VOGEL
Alexander Vogel works in Business Intelligence at TAB’s office in Berlin. He shared with us his journey in this field of work, what exactly he does and some of the must-visit places in Germany.
Our Q&A With Alexander:
Q: What was your previous experience before working at TAB and how did it prepare you for the work you do now?
A: I was very lucky to work as a student for Microsoft, I had a mentor in Business Intelligence who guided me, laid out the interest and showed the power of analytical tools and the skills that provided the knowledge of the work I do at TAB. Before I came to TAB I was traveling around Indonesia, Southeast Asia and Australia for 14 months, then I had my own entrepreneurial endeavor after which I moved to Berlin and started working at TAB.
Q: What does your typical day look like and what does your job entail?
A: My role is to work behind the scenes and to always make sure I have the big picture in mind, meaning I gather every day-to-day data, make sure our quality and rates are in the correct fields of our clients' KPIs. I work a lot with account managers to keep track of all the things, including the budget. Business Intelligence is to provide the data in such a way that everybody else can make decisions out of it. I continuously work on optimization and give recommendations on the daily decisions.
Q: Did TAB meet your expectations about working here?
A: TAB has the open communication in the team, flat hierarchy and the working possibilities fulfilled my expectations. There is always more room to learn deeper into the industry and I have more opportunities and responsibilities as the time goes.
Q: What are you career goals?
A: My career goal is, being in the management department, to make TAB the biggest mobile marketing agency and develop the benchmark tool in the mobile marketing landscape that will be used by everyone. I believe mobile industry is the present and the future.
Q: What is your favorite memory with TAB?
A: My home run at our summer event when we played softball. Maybe there was more luck involved but it was fun, and I enjoyed having this activity with my colleagues.
Q: Can you name a few essential qualities the employees have at TAB?
A: Open-mindedness, ability to work in an international team and flexibility.
Q: What are the 3 places people must visit in Germany?
A: Alps in the South, old town of Dresden and the harbor of Hamburg.
Q: What are your favorite shows on Netflix?
A: Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Rick and Morty.
